Trend Tip: Crayon Collage
Happy New Year to you all! I want to start off this year with something new and I have been planning to start a journal style blog to accompany my freelance illustration journey. A place where I can share my process, inspiration and news. So here it is...I hope to post something once or twice a month at this stage so please stay posted.
To kick start the year I'm in need of some fresh ideas and inspiration to battle these winter blues, so here is my first instalment of upcoming trends that I’m seeing this year for spring/summer. Stay tuned, there's more to come!!

Get ready to spend a lot of time at the craft table cutting out shapes and creating bold patterns and fun, stylised characters. This trend is all about bright primary colours, abstract shapes, torn paper edges, blobs of paint and squiggly lines. You will see a lot of primary red and blue paired together alongside millennial pink (yes it’s still here). There will also be bright yellow and contrasting black accents together with negative white space to balance things out. Be prepared for plenty of speckled and terrazzo style textures as well as graphic grids. Apart from patterns you will also see geometric stylised animals such as birds, dogs and everything in between, Cut and paste your heart out!
